Happy Spring!! I’m Katherine and I’m bringing you my first set of monthly arts recommendations! All of these events are TeenTix eligible meaning you can use your TeenTix pass to get $5 day-of-show tickets. Don’t have a TeenTix pass? Don’t know what TeenTix is? Check out their website here. This month, I have two main recommendations. Firstly, the amazing Terracotta Warriors of the First Emperor exhibit opening at the Pacific Science Center is going to be the hottest ticket in town. It’s “an immersive investigation of the science behind priceless artifacts including real figures from the terracotta army” and it sounds SO cool! The Pacific Science Center just became a FULL TeenTix partner so you can see the special exhibits for only $5. Don’t miss this epic show!! I’m also really excited for ACT Theatre’s production of Murder of Two in collaboration with The 5th Avenue Theatre. This two man musical comedy is going to be an awesome blend of murder, music, and mayhem. One actor is the investigator and the other plays all the suspects! With a brilliant cast and creative team, this musical will be one of the best shows in town! It runs until June 11th and plays Tuesday through Sunday. Make sure to check for ticket availability online before you make the trek downtown. Not your style? I’m also looking forward to Sueño at UW School of Drama, Busman’s Honeymoon at Taproot Theatre Company, and Chitrangada at ACT Theatre, co-presented with Pratidhwani. The classic opera The Magic Flute will be playing the month of May at Seattle Opera. Interested in visual arts? MoPOP (formerly known as the EMP) has a special exhibit on the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame and the Northwest African American Museum’s exhibit An Elegant Utility is closing at the end of the month. Catch it before it closes! Have you seen any of these shows? What did you think? Are you looking forward to any arts events this month? Let us know in the comments!
