Center School's favorite event, the Art In, is back! Hosted by the TCS Pep Squad in collaboration with the CSCA, the event will raise money to help pay for teachers' salaries. The name "Art In" is a play on the classic protest method of a sit in. The event is protesting the lack of funding by raising money and celebrating everything that makes TCS special. The event will feature an open mic, food, art creation stations, and student work on view. The Pep Squad will have tshirts and button. The event also happened last year and was an extreme success. Support your school by coming to the Art In on June 9th from 4:30-6:30pm! Bring your friends and family! Have questions? Ask Junior Ella Swenson or attend a Pep Squad meeting at lunch on Wednesdays in the Dragon Den.

The Armory Starbucks recently closed the store to start renovations. Construction is scheduled to finish in July but employees expect it to take longer. In the meantime, Starbucks has set up a temporary coffee cart in their patio space. The cart has all the usual drinks but it doesn't have any of the items typically in the glass case or refrigerator section (sandwiches, pastries, etc). They do have small things like chips, popcorn, and granola bars: the items typically at the cash register or in the baskets. Unfortunately, mobile orders aren't set up in the cart but they do accept payments via the app. Need a new coffee spot? There's a Starbucks in the nearby QFC (on Mercer), at Westlake and Mercer, and at 5th and Wall. In Seattle Center, Plum, Eltana, and Ceres all sell coffee. Eltana opens at 8am; Plum and Ceres don't open until later so they're perfect for your afternoon pick-me-up. The Bubble Tea Shop doesn't have coffee but they sell smoothies, tea, and other delicious drinks. We'll update you if we learn anything new about the Starbucks situation. For now, embrace the chance to try new restaurants. |
